There will be three open identification camps in Moncton, Fredericton, and Bathurst on the weekend of June 7th, 8th and 9th. These identification camps are run by Team NB coaches. Upon completion of these identification camps, all the selected athletes are invited to the final identification camp in Fredericton on Sunday, June 16th. The athletes will attend two on court sessions and one physical testing session. Following the final ID camp, only the selected athletes will be invited to participate in the Team NB Canada Cup Coaches program. Athletes may be selected from the 16U, 15U and 14U tryout groups. If an athlete is found capable to attend a tryout of a higher age division, it will be indicated on their invitation to the final tryout. This does not mean they are guaranteed a spot in this age division and does not take them out of the selects for their appropriate age division.
Athlete selections will be made by the Head Coach, Assistant Coach (es) in consultation with the remaining Team NB coaches, external evaluators, mentor coach and VNB staff. The selection criteria should be outlined at the beginning of each selection camp.
There will be an option to invite a maximum of 12 athletes as part of a training group. These athletes will not be on the roster and will not travel to the Canada Cup competition; however, they will be given the opportunity to train with the group for the weekends of June 28th-30th and July 6th-7th. Selected athletes can still participate in the Team NB Elite program.
