Each year, Volleyball New Brunswick honours our members through the Hall of Fame and annual awards. We host our annual award gala to recognize the outstanding contributions of Volleyball New Brunswick members.<\/p>\n
Volleyball NB Hall of Fame was established in 1999 to celebrate outstanding achievements of our athletes, coaches, builders, officials, and teams from across our province. We want to honor those who have made a significant impact within our borders as a member of VNB. As an outside hitter, Carter has excelled at the school, club, provincial, and national levels, combining strong attacking, passing, defence, and composure under pressure. He helped lead the FHS Black Kats to a Provincial Championship and competed at the 18U Canada Cup level.<\/span><\/p>\n When a severe ankle sprain during the Team Canada selection camp threatened his season, Carter\u2019s true resilience showed. Through relentless rehab, he earned his spot on the national roster to represent Canada at the NORCECA U17 Pan-Am Cup\u2014and followed it up with a 16U National Bronze on the beach with his partner Jackson Gallagher.<\/span><\/p>\n Beyond his accomplishments, Carter is recognized for his quiet leadership, relentless work ethic, and outstanding sportsmanship. This season, she guided her team to a Provincial Championship Gold Medal while earning Provincial All-Star honors, followed up by a Bronze at the prestigious Best of the West tournament and a Tier 2 National Championship Gold.<\/span><\/p>\n Her relentless pursuit of excellence earned her a spot on the national stage with Team Canada, where Mila helped drive her Canada White squad all the way to a Tier 1 Silver Medal at the Canada Cup. During this past season, she was selected as the 1st Referee for the 15U Girls Gold Medal Match at Volleyball Canada Nationals, an outstanding accomplishment and a testament to the confidence placed in her abilities by the officiating community.<\/span><\/p>\n Her success continued at Canada Cup in Regina, where Clara served as the 1st Referee for the Girls Bronze Medal Match. She continued to make her mark on the provincial and national stage, serving as <\/span>captain of Team New Brunswick at the 1993 Canada Games in Kamloops, British Columbia<\/b>, and proudly carrying the New Brunswick delegation\u2019s flag during the Opening Ceremonies.<\/span><\/p>\n Chantal went on to become a standout at the university level with the <\/span>University of New Brunswick<\/b>, where she played from 1992 to 1997. During her time with UNB, she helped capture <\/span>back-to-back league championships<\/b>, including an undefeated 16\u20130 season in 1993\u201394. Her individual accomplishments were just as impressive, earning <\/span>AUAA First Team All-Star honours in 1995\u201396<\/b>, numerous Player of the Game awards, and being named <\/span>CIAU Female Athlete of the Week in February 1996<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n Her talents also took her beyond the university game. In the summer of 1996, Chantal represented Canada as a member of the <\/span>Junior National Team<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n A true all-around athlete, Chantal also took up rowing as a second sport while at UNB. Her dedication across athletics and academics earned her the <\/span>1997 Garnet Copeland Award<\/b>, recognizing her as UNB\u2019s <\/span>Top All-Around Student-Athlete<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n At the senior level, Chantal was part of teams that went on to win a remarkable <\/span>15 championships<\/b>, playing with powerhouse programs including <\/span>Black Magic, the Moncton Alpines, and Fuego<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n And her athletic accomplishments extended beyond volleyball. Davin captured <\/span>five Provincial Championship titles<\/b> and recorded more than <\/span>20 first-place finishes<\/b> across indoor and beach volleyball. Along the way, he earned numerous MVP and All-Star selections and was named <\/span>Volleyball New Brunswick Male Athlete of the Year twice<\/b>, in 2004 and 2007.<\/span><\/p>\n Davin\u2019s leadership was evident at every level. He captained his high school and club teams, represented New Brunswick as captain at the <\/span>2004 National Team Challenge Cup<\/b> and <\/span>2005 Canada Summer Games in Regina<\/b>, and became a co-captain of the <\/span>UNB Varsity Reds<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n From 2004 to 2008, Davin helped transform the UNB men\u2019s volleyball program into a nationally recognized team. The Varsity Reds reached the <\/span>AUS Championship final four times<\/b>, climbed as high as <\/span>sixth in the CIS national rankings<\/b>, and Davin\u2019s individual achievements included <\/span>two CIS All-Canadian selections, three AUS All-Star honours, two UNB MVP awards, and induction into the UNB Ring of Distinction<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n His success at UNB opened the door to the highest levels of the sport. Davin represented <\/span>Canada on the Senior Men\u2019s National Volleyball Team from 2007 to 2010<\/b>, earning international Silver Medals at the <\/span>2007 FISU World Universiade in Thailand<\/b> and the <\/span>2009 Pan-American Cup in Mexico<\/b>. The Universiade result tied Canada\u2019s best-ever finish in the competition.<\/span><\/p>\n Davin also took his talents overseas, competing professionally in <\/span>Indonesia, France, and Finland<\/b> and across <\/span>10 countries and four continents<\/b>. He earned league All-Star recognition, a bronze medal in Indonesia\u2019s ProLiga, and competed in the <\/span>CEV Cup<\/b>, one of Europe\u2019s premier inter-European club competitions.<\/span><\/p>\n But Davin\u2019s career was about far more than the accolades. Throughout his years as a high-performance athlete, he faced significant physical challenges, including chronic hip issues and the rehabilitation of <\/span>five surgeries<\/b>. Each setback demanded tremendous work, discipline, and determination to return to the court. Despite these challenges, he continued to compete at the highest levels of university, national team, and professional volleyball.<\/span><\/p>\n Perhaps equally important is the legacy Davin has built beyond his playing career. He has supported the development of volleyball through coaching, camps, clinics, speaking engagements, and youth skills programming. He also played a role in establishing and developing the <\/span>men\u2019s volleyball program at Crandall University<\/b>, helping provide technical expertise and mentorship to a new generation of Atlantic Canadian athletes.<\/span><\/p>\n From the courts of New Brunswick to the international stage, Davin St. Pierre carried his province with him every step of the way.
