VNB President

VNB is thrilled to share that Tracy Clinch has been named President of Volleyball New Brunswick. Tracy’s passion is volleyball, having played her whole life, including at Saint Mary’s University and now continuing to coach. Outside of volleyball, Tracy is the President and CEO of Masitek Instruments Inc. and sits on various boards for New Brunswick organizations

I am thrilled to step into the role of President of the Board of Directors at Volleyball New Brunswick. Volleyball has been such a significant part of my life, and I am eager to contribute at the governance level to ensure the continued growth and success of the sport. I look forward to continuing to build on the great work done by Randy Wilson and collaborating with my fellow board members to strengthen our strategic vision, enhance our programs, and ensure a sustainable future for volleyball in New Brunswick.”

We are very fortunate to continue to have strong leadership within VNB to continue to grow the sport and we can’t wait for what’s to come!!

Share the Score

This month we’re fundraising for the VNB Athlete Assistance Program! With the goal of helping our athletes offset costs related to High Performance.

Capital Funding

We are part way into our first-ever Capital Funding Campaign! All funds raised will go towards new equipment used during our 3 major tournaments; Senior Open, Age Class Provincials, and Jack Lawson Middle School Cup, which offer over 3,460 youth and adult volleyball players the chance to experience one of the biggest sports tournaments in Atlantic Canada!

Why is new equipment needed?

The Sport Courts and Net Systems used at the Moncton Coliseum are over 20 years old. They were purchased in the early 2000’s and have seen A LOT of use over the past 20 years. Over 4,500 sets of volleyball have been played on each court, and they are starting to wear down. To keep all major VNB events under one roof, new equipment is needed in order to keep the facility safe for everyone.

Volleyball is growing across the country and our province is no different! In order to accommodate the size, we need to look at expanding the number of courts we have access to.

SafeSport Session

The Timberwolves hosted us in Saint John for our very first SafeSport Education Seminar on the 21st of September. The information shared in these presentations covers SafeSport, Code of Conduct, and more, which is very valuable for all club staff, athletes, and parents!

The Timberwolves Club Director, Heather, shared “We took advantage of VNB’s offer to host a presentation on various aspects of Safe Sport. We invited our athletes, parents, and coaches to attend, and we were pleased to see a 95% attendance rate across our 15 teams.

Pat Thorne, who led the session, was both engaging and thorough. Despite the heavy nature of the material, Pat presented it in a factual and relatable manner. The session served as a valuable reminder of the expected behavior for everyone involved in our club. Pat addressed crucial topics, including appropriate behavior on social media, respectful treatment of teammates and everyone involved in volleyball at all levels, and reminded parents that their actions impact their children . Our coaches and families also learned about the “rule of 2,” emphasizing that no coach should be alone with athletes in the gym and that all communications between coach and athlete should include another coach or parent.

We can’t thank Pat and Christian more for coming to Saint John to share this important message. We hope you wear your Timberpups t-shirts proudly.”

Thank you to the Timberwolves for having us and to Pat Thorne for passing along this valuable information to our clubs to keep everyone safe!
