Team NB Elite 2024

VNB is excited to announce our plan for 2024 Team NB ELITE.

Teams

VNB plans to run the following teams this summer:

Male:

• 1 or 2 x 17u Canada Cup Teams (2007 and younger)
• 1 or 2 x 16u Eastern Elite Teams (2008 and younger)
• 1 or 2 x 15u Eastern Elite Teams (2009 and younger)
• 2 x 14u Eastern Elite Teams (2010 and younger)

Coaching Staff

Female:

• 2 x 17u Canada Cup Teams (2007 and younger)
• 2 x 16u Eastern Elite Teams (2008 and younger)
• 2 x 15u Eastern Elite Teams (2009 and younger)
• 2 x 14u Eastern Elite Teams (2010 and younger)

**The final number of teams for each age category will depend on how many athletes are selected at final tryouts.

Tryouts

Tryouts for Team NB Elite teams will consist of a Regional Tryout phase and a Final Tryout Phase.

Registration for the Regional Tryouts is open. The cost is $30 and is payable upon registration.

If you are unable to attend the regional tryout in your area, please complete the Team NB Elite Tryout Exemption request to register for the final tryout. Athletes registering for the exemption must pay the total registration cost of $60 [$30 regional tryout + $30 final tryout].

Registration closes on February 28th, 2024 @ 5:00 pm to allow for session planning.

Final Tryouts

For Athletes Selected to attend from the Regional Tryouts

The fee for Final Tryouts will be $30 per athlete. This can be paid during check-in at the gym, or through Sportlomo ahead of time.

Saturday, June 1st – Fredericton NB

• 14u Girls (2010 and younger)
• 14u Boys (2010 and younger)
• 16u Girls (2008)

Sunday, June 2nd – Fredericton NB

• 15u Girls (2009)
• 17u Girls (2007)
• 15u Boys (2009)
• 16u Boys (2008)
• 17u Boys (2007)

Final Tryout Format

VNB will host 2 on-court sessions per birth year, on the assigned day. Athletes will be required to attend both sessions that day.

Athlete Selection Process

Following the Regional Tryouts, athletes will be notified the following week if they have been selected to attend the Final Tryout, or not. 

Following the Final Tryout, athletes will be notified the following week if they have been selected for a Team NB team, or not.

Athletes will be evaluated by VNB coaching staff, and other VNB evaluators throughout their tryout time. Evaluation criteria, as well as the tryout format, will be identical for every Regional ID Camp. The criteria and tryout format will be updated for the Final Tryout Phase.

17u Canada Cup

• July 23-28 – Canada Cup – Calgary, AB

Program Cost

The cost for Team NB Elite programs for 2024 will be posted soon. 

Eastern Elite athletes would typically pay between $900-$1200, depending on multiple factors. 

Canada Cup athletes would typically pay $1200-$1700 depending on the location of Canada Cup and multiple other factors.
