PEP
The men’s and women’s PEP Program had their first session September 27-28. Guest coach Connor McConnell worked with the 22 male PEP athletes and 6 coaches. The weekend started with physically testing the athletes, delivering their fitness programs, and a session on mobility and body care. The men had 4 court sessions where they worked on individual skills based on their positions and blocking.
On the women’s side, guest coach Lauren Hale-Miller worked with 28 athletes and 9 coaches. The weekend was focused mainly on blocking with break out sessions working on individual skills by position. The girls spent their Saturday morning doing physical testing with Strength and conditioning program delivery in the afternoon. On Sunday, they had a classroom session with USPORT athlete Talia Nixon who walked them through ‘a day in the life of a varsity athlete’ she covered; recruiting, nutrition, time management habits, post-secondary school decisions, and much more!
PEP athletes are set to start their strength and conditioning programs this week!
