Eastern Elites
We are delighted to be hosting the Eastern Elites Championships once again this year. The tournament will convene provincial teams representing all Atlantic provinces, showcasing the finest talent in our region’s volleyball community. This year, there are 31 teams competing in this tournament across the 4 provinces; with our 14U, 15U, and 16U teams proudly representing New Brunswick.
The event will be hosted at the Nashwaaksis Middle School Field House in Fredericton, from July 18-20, 2024.
Athlete Spotlight
Our High Performance athletes Finn McMorran and Connor Waugh competed hard at the U19 Worlds Championships Selection Tournament last month on June 8-9, 2024 in Ontario.
McMorran shares “The U19 World Championship Trials was truly a great experience. We battled well and won four matches, then lost a close one in semis by two points each set. We were a couple of points from a trip to China, but we definitely showed we can compete at that level.”
Congratulations to the HP duo and HP Coach Spragg on their fourth place finish. Well done! VNB and the volleyball community are proud of you! Thank you for representing NB with such pride!

Capital Funding
We are part way into our first-ever Capital Funding Campaign! All funds raised will go towards new equipment used during our 3 major tournaments; Senior Open, Age Class Provincials, and Jack Lawson Middle School Cup, which offer over 3,460 youth and adult volleyball players the chance to experience one of the biggest sports tournaments in Atlantic Canada!
Why is new equipment needed?
The Sport Courts and Net Systems used at the Moncton Coliseum are over 20 years old. They were purchased in the early 2000’s and have seen A LOT of use over the past 20 years. Over 4,500 sets of volleyball have been played on each court, and they are starting to wear down. To keep all major VNB events under one roof, new equipment is needed in order to keep the facility safe for everyone.
Volleyball is growing across the country and our province is no different! In order to accommodate the size, we need to look at expanding the number of courts we have access to.

Our training groups for Team NB Elite are in full swing! Official team rosters will be announced soon!
The 14U, 15U, and 16U teams are training to compete against other Provincial teams in the Eastern Elites Championships, and the 17U teams are training to compete in the Canada Cup tournament held from July 24-28, 2024 in Calgary.

Beach Elite Program
Our U16 Elite beach program kicked off in June. We had some amazing sessions with our athletes, and we’re looking forward to a great summer on the beach! If you are interested in being a part of our program, email beachcoordinator@volleyballnb.org.

Beach Volleyball
We had great success during the first beach tournament of the summer at Willie O’Ree in Fredericton, NB on June 15-16, 2024. Thanks to everyone who came out and congratulations to our winners!
